Based on 186 reviewsHana consistently receives praise for its authentic Japanese cuisine, with many customers highlighting the freshness and quality of its sushi offerings. The restaurant is appreciated for maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, often described as quiet and comfortable, making it suitable for both solo diners and groups. Service quality stands out as a key strength, with attentive and friendly staff who ensure guests feel well cared for. The ability to watch sushi prepared at the bar adds to the overall dining experience, enhancing the connection to traditional craftsmanship. While some longtime patrons note minor variations in sushi quality over time, the overall reputation remains strong, particularly for signature dishes and sides like miso soup and salads. Reasonable pricing and consistency in taste also contribute to Hana's favorable standing within the Long Island sushi scene.
This is authentic Japanese food. It is delicious and the staff is friendly.
I came with one mission: to have a childhood sushi I haven't had in years: masago and quail egg. Many sushi places can't serve it because they don't keep quail egg in stock. I sat alone at the bar, which was very quiet, but had a great atmosphere. The sushi chef in front of me watched over the staff like a hawk to make sure when I needed something that I was taken care of ASAP (I assume a perk of the bar) . I started with a Sapporo beer with the sushi I came for and the chef made it perfectly. It's a strange combination to many, but to me it reminds me of home. I'm giving 5 stars because of the care this chef put into my sushi. I would recommend solely on his experience. I ordered the sashimi deluxe which I originally thought 24 pieces for 30 might feel like a ripoff, but was pleasantly surprised with how full I felt at the end. For dessert, I ordered both the Yokan (jelly) and the fried green ice cream specifically for this review since I didn't see any pictures of them. The jelly was definitely interesting and unlike anything I've ordered before. The green tea ice cream was just as expected. I would recommend coming alone or with one other person, but I noticed that groups of four have a great time ordering sushi boats for a decent price between 70-100 which is pretty good for long island at this time. Definitely coming again! Edit: Came again and ordered much more this time, added pictures! It was even better the second time.
WOW BEST SUSHI PLACE IN LONG ISLAND. Spicy salmon roll and Eel & avocado So oishiiiii
We have been going here for years and it is still one of the best sushi places around. Their prices are great even after COVID and the staff is so wonderful. The food always tastes delicious and you can watch the sushi be made right in front of you. Highly recommend anyone who hasn’t been here to check it out.
I’ve been coming here since i was little and it’s always been a favorite of mine. The staff are so kind and attentive. Their sushi isn’t as good anymore, but what i personally order is always fresh and delicious. They also have the best miso soup and salad in my opinion.
My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for close to 20 years. We love it so much! It is owned by a lovely Korean family and they offer both Japanese and Korean dishes, all which are so delicious! They are always so kind and friendly And service is always wonderful. While I have so many favorites on the menu, I have to say my absolute favorite is their sesame dressing for their green salad. Not many sushi places offer this type of dressing, but I'm so happy they do I wish I could be there in it, it's THAT good!
It is really worth to try. Good food and good price. 70 dollar for that boat
Absolutely love this little gem! My husband and I have been coming here for years. The food is fresh, the service is quick, the prices are great, the staff is very respectful, and the restaurant itself is beautiful! We recommend this place to everyone!!!
